Una Escuelita - A Little School – is an after-school program for the children of Limon Dos, an impoverished township in southwestern Nicaragua. Una Escuelita is a place of nurturing values, learning, and art, led by a staff of experienced Nicaraguan teachers and volunteers from around the world who create programs to challenge and engage the children we serve. We work to provide an experience of art and learning that ignites imagination, improves academic study, and connects each child with their world in a positive way. Our goal is to create good citizens in a place where the resources of the educational system are scarce. Una Escuelita offers all children in the community a place to learn, play and receive a nourishing meal.
